Hiring a car under 25 in Spain or Portugal
Enter the main driver's real age when you search. The minimum age, licence-history rule and young-driver fee can differ by supplier, car group and pick-up location.
Check these points before paying
- Use the main driver's ageThe age entered in the search must match the person named on the booking and the licence shown at the desk.
- Read the age conditionsCheck the minimum age, how long the driver must have held a full licence and whether particular car groups are excluded.
- Add the young-driver feeA low headline price may not include a fee charged for each rental day. Check whether it is included online or payable at collection.
- Check the deposit cardThe main driver will commonly need a payment card in their own name for the deposit. The accepted card type and available credit are set by the supplier.
What changes with age?
At the collection desk
- Bring the driving licence and passport or accepted identity document named in the booking conditions.
- Bring the card required for the deposit in the main driver's name.
- Ask for a written breakdown before agreeing to an extra charge.
- Photograph the bodywork, wheels, glass, interior, mileage and fuel gauge before leaving.
- Keep the booking voucher and collection paperwork until the deposit has been released.
If the driver's age or licence history does not meet the supplier's conditions, the desk may refuse the vehicle. Do not enter an older age to reveal more offers.
