The calculation

Available credit calculation Credit limit minus the rental block plus accepted excess cover equals the amount available after the block. Credit limit − block Accepted cover added back Available after block
Formula
Available = limit − block + cover
Optional field
A blank cover field is treated as zero.

Read the result

The result is the credit left after applying the figures you entered.

This calculator assumes the rental company blocks the full excess on your card. Some accept excess cover to reduce the block; check your agreement.

Questions about the calculation

What should I enter as the block?

Use the excess or security block written in your rental agreement. Do not use a general figure from another booking.

Can I leave excess cover blank?

Yes. The calculator treats a blank cover field as zero.

Does excess cover always reduce the block?

No. Enter a cover amount only when your rental agreement says the rental company accepts it to reduce the block.
